I grew up in Salisbury, NC — a small city with big enough problems to teach you early that systems either serve people or they fail them.

At 15, I was a founding member of Salisbury's inaugural Youth Council, learning governance from the Mayor and City Manager before I had a driver's license. At 16, I was the only public high school student at a national intelligence symposium — and when I stood up to question former CIA Director James Woolsey, the audience applauded. Not him. Me. I didn't fully understand what that moment meant at the time. I understand it now.

That thread — the ability to read a room, identifying the real question behind the stated one, and saying the thing that needs to be said — has run through everything since.

I served as a U.S. Navy Intelligence Specialist, producing analytical products that reached four-star generals, the Secretary of Defense, and the President of the United States. I was elected Student Body President at Appalachian State University and simultaneously appointed as a Voting Trustee on the highest governance body of the university — representing more than 20,000 students. I went on to the Pentagon as a Senior Joint Intelligence Planner at the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Along the way, I built something I couldn't find anywhere else: FREE GRID™ — a strategic execution framework born from 10+ years at the intersection of military intelligence, civic leadership, and executive planning. It's the system I wish I'd had in every room I've walked into.

Now I write.
